Our military veterans provide us the freedom to enjoy life. What better way to say thank you to our Team Red, White and Blue military veterans than to invite the community to come play sport challenges every month with them. Sports Academy Foundation hosts these fundraising events to support more expansive programs to empower our community veterans to succeed in their civilian life.
“The Community Challenge provides an opportunity for our veterans to engage with the community in a positive and competitive environment through team sport. With the help of Sports Academy Foundation, we are creating a connection that can only be achieved through physical and social interaction.” – Dan Manrique, Community Captain Team Red, White and Blue Ventura County.
One of the biggest challenges our veterans face after military service is the loss of community. Dan further added, “the Community Challenge experience is a phenomenal combination of superb skills training from Sports Academy’s coaches and good competitive fun. It’s awesome seeing veterans and civilians come together with great sportsmanship and witnessing community relationship-building at its best.”
Each event begins with an hour of expert skills instruction from Sports Academy’s exceptional coaches. Then small skills games are played to hone the new techniques. In the third hour, mix and match games are played. With Futsal and Volleyball already in the books, the coming months will include beach volleyball, sand soccer, basketball, pickleball and more.
Our next event is Beach Volleyball on January 14th from 9:00 – 12:00pm and includes lunch following play. Come join the fun!
